Who is John Ross?

John and his wife Sue are longtime residents of Sylvania whose children and now
grandchildren have and are now attending Sylvania Schools. John is CEO and CFO of Integrated
Financial Resources here in Sylvania. He grew up in Portsmouth where he and his 7 brothers
were encouraged by their parents to study, work hard and get a great education. John came
to Toledo from Portsmouth Ohio by way of a football scholarship to the University of Toledo
where he held wide receiver records for the Rocket football team for 30 years. He was team
captain and first team All-Mac and Academic all Mac member. In 2008 he was elected to the
Toledo Football Hall of Fame. John left the University of Toledo with a degree in Education.
John has always been involved in education and working with young people.

He taught and coached at Cardinal Stritch for three years and since then, he has coached at
Northview, Southview, McCord, and area Rec leagues where he has positively affected the
lives of many local young people.

John has served on many boards over the years including the Financial Planning Association of
Northwest Ohio, Partners in Education, University of Toledo Varsity T Club, Partner with Kids
to assist teachers in Sylvania Schools, Partners in Education, Board President of the Southview
Couger Club and Board Chairman of the Sylvania Athletic Foundation. John has always been a
team player and a leader in the community. Now he wants to bring to his experience as a
teacher, coach, mentor, business owner financial manager to the Sylvania School Board as we
prepare our students with an education that will Focus on the Future as we fulfill the Schools
mission statement To educate, empower and inspire students to reach their full potential as lifelong
contributors to a global society.
